Former FTX executive Ryan Salame is asking for a prison break due to emergency surgery

Former FTX government Ryan Salame is looking for a 45-day jail sentence, citing the necessity for emergency surgical procedure following a canine chew. Salame, who pleaded responsible to prison expenses associated to the collapse of the cryptocurrency alternate, entered the plea in federal court docket in New York.

Salame's authorized staff requested that his committal date be moved from August 29 to October 13 to permit for his pressing medical consideration.

In a July 26 submitting, the staff requested that its self-report date be pushed again from August 29 to October 13 “in order that he can endure pressing and essential medical therapy and surgical procedure.”
